We're Maddy and Max – soon-to-be husband and wife! Our journey together has been filled with laughter, adventure, and deep love. We could not be more excited to take this next step surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
We first met while we were both working at the University of Dayton Police Department. Maddy was working as a part-time dispatcher after recently graduating from UD, and Max was working as a police officer. Over time, we've built a life rooted in respect, support, and the kind of love that makes every day feel special.
Since then, our lives have been full of love and adventure. We have always been taking on new projects, going camping at Kelleys Island, weekend trips, basketball games, and so much more. In spring 2024, Maddy graduated from the police academy and became a police officer at UD. Since then, we have worked together on patrol and numerous cases. With our lives busy as ever, we decided that our 6-year-old Husky/Pit mix, Knox, was lonely, so we rescued a 6-month-old German Shepherd, naming him after Max's maternal grandfather, Fritz.
On June 28, 2025, while camping at Kelleys Island, Max proposed during sunset along the lake, right before Maddy told him to stand up, thinking he was joking. It was a wonderful start to our long vacation.
Our wedding day isn't just about us – it's about celebrating the family and friends who have shaped our lives and supported our love story throughout. Our wedding date and location hold extra special significance for us. December 28, 1996, is both of our parents wedding anniversary. Maddy's parents got married at the same chapel we are using (St. Mary's) while Max's parents got married down the street at Fairmont Presbyterian church before both couples ended their night staying at the UD Marriott.
Being able to share the same anniversary as both our parents is something special to us, and we are grateful you will be joining us on this short notice! December 28 does not land on a weekend for another seven years!
We can't wait to say "I do" and to start this next chapter together, with each other by our side.
